Southern California Chapter Hosts 15th Annual Walk for Vision

It was a picture-perfect spring day in Southern California when over 450 passionate individuals came together to support a cause close to their hearts—ending curable blindness for the underserved in India. On April 20th, the Southern California chapter of the Sankara Eye Foundation (SEF), USA, proudly hosted its 15th Annual Walk for Vision, a hugely popular community event rooted in purpose, compassion, and commitment.

This year’s walk held special significance for the Southern California chapter leader, Anupama Venkatesh, who has consistently organized the event since its inception and led the team this year as well despite facing a challenging battle with metastatic cancer. “I was deeply honored to be able to organize this event and see it come to life”, she said. It was incredibly moving to witness the community—volunteers, families, friends, local supporters, and sponsors—rally together with energy, and we’re extremely grateful to everyone who showed up.”

The walkathon was a step forward in SEF, USA’s Vision 2030 – March to a Million journey towards performing 1 million free eye surgeries annually by 2030, restoring sight and transforming lives across rural India.

Together, let us March to a Million.
